An Ideal Base to Explore the Yorkshire Dales

And Beyond!

Walking

There are numerous walks for all abilities available throughout the area. With the help of Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (NAONB) we have designed two circular walks from the site.

Route 1

3 miles, 1.5 hrs, Easy level walk with some stiles.

Route 2

8 miles, 4 hours, Moderate with some steep sections, Druids Temple place of interest.

Thorp Perrow Arboretum - 6 miles 10 mins

This tranquil and peaceful haven is home to some of the largest and rarest trees and shrubs in England. A treasure trove of specimen trees and woodland walks. There are tree trails, nature trail and children's trail, a large lake, picnic area and children's play area complete with wild flower area with identification board, bird identification board and a mini-beast station.

Black Swan to Masham /Wetlands Local Walk

Black Swan, Fearby to Masham – 2.5 miles About one hour’s walking time with the option to return via Marfields wetlands 38 hectre  nature reserve, a total of 6 miles, about 3 hour’s walking time.

 

We are currently planning 3 new walks to be ready for Spring. The will take in a local wildlife sanctuary and local historical sites.
