Masham Steam Rally

Masham Steam Rally was born 38 years ago by the Town Hall Association to save our impressive Town Hall from ruin and still continues today for the purpose of raising funds for its upkeep.

Thousands of people from this country and abroad usually enjoy good weather at the event, which is similar in form to its origin, a traditional Steam Rally celebrating the finest of this country’s engineering and agricultural heritage, but much bigger.

Usually as many as 35 Traction Engines provide a variety of examples of their day, showmans engines, including our famous locals, Lightning 11, and Winston Churchill. General purpose engines, steam wagons, rollers, tractors, and new for this year - heavy haulage locos, and a good number of miniature steam engines. You will also discover fine displays of vintage tractors, barn engines and associated machinery, commercial vehicles and fire engines, vintage and veteran cars and motorcycles and cycles. Landrovers also feature in this event, being situated near a rugged rural terrain, they have a part in the rich history of our fine area.
